Hi8 and Digital8 were hugely popular camcorder formats through the 1990s and 2000s. The cassettes are small, but they hold hours of irreplaceable family footage — and the camcorders needed to play them are increasingly hard to find in working order.
Hi8 is an analogue 8mm camcorder format, while Digital8 records a digital signal onto the same style of 8mm tape. Both are prone to dropout and degradation over time. We capture them on suitable professional equipment and deliver clean digital files.
